Signing up for the Norwegian Online Championship

All matches will be played at HUB. New user? Read here. When you sign up to one or more of the tournaments, you will automatically receive a mail (in Norwegian) with amount to be paid (via Vipps to a certain cell no.) and also what the sidebets are. If you cannot pay via Vipps, please contact Yvonne at the means mentioned above.

Entry and Format of Online Championship Master/Intermediate/Beginner

Saturday 11th Feb. at 4pm - 10:30pm CET/WBIF time, continues Sunday 12th at 12pm

Master flight - NOK 250. Vipps to Karl Frogner after signing up.

Format: We play single cup with 13 point matches in early rounds, with quarters, semis and final played to 15 points.

Tournament will be paused at 10:30pm and will resume Sunday at 12:00pm

Intermediate flight - NOK 150. Vipps to Yvonne Pasali after signing up.

Format: We play 6 rounds Monrad with 11 point matches. Players with 4 losses are eliminated from the tournament. The 8 best players after 6 rounds will play quarter finals to 11 points, semi finals to 13 points and final to 15 points.

Tournament will be paused at 10:30pm and will resume Sunday at 12:00pm

Beginner flight - NOK 50. Vipps to Yvonne Pasali after signing up.

Format: We play 6 rounds Monrad with the first 3 matches to 3 points and the last 3 to 5 points. The four best players after 6 rounds will play semi finals to 7 points and final to 9 points.

Tournament will be paused at 10:30pm and will resume Sunday at 12:00pm

Master flight - NOK 150. Vipps to Karl Frogner after signing up.

Format: We play double elimination (eliminated from tournament after second loss) with matches to 5 points. Time control: 2 minutes in time bank for the whole match + 8 seconds delay per move.

Intermediate flight - NOK 150. Vipps to Yvonne Pasali after signing up.

Format: We play triple elimination (eliminated from tournament after third loss) with matches to 5 points.  Time control: 2 minutes in time bank for the whole match + 8 seconds delay per move.

Flight requirements

Master flight - open for everyone.

Intermediate flight - needs to have lower rating than 1650 when signing up.

Beginner flight - became a member of NBgF for the first time in 2022/2023 or have experience* below 350. (exceptions by tournament director possible, ask!)

Note: *experience is found on your own profile at NBGF, see example below (experience 258).

Note: Tournament director may require a player to play in a particular flight, independent of rating, if one can be reasonably sure that the player’s level corresponds to the flight.  To take part in the tournament membership to club or to NBgF must be paid in Master and Intermediate.

Prize money in all flights - after deducting NOK 50  (no deduction in beginner flight)

Neither of the speed tournaments on Saturday 18.2 are part of Norgescup, so no deduction of NOK 50.
